We felt like royalty
We were surrounded by museums and good restaurants, yet the street was very quiet allowing us to sleep very well. The apartment is beautifully decorated, with original art hanging from the walls. Stunning features like the stone wall, the terracotta floor and the details on the ceiling give it a very authentic feel. Most importantly, the beds were really comfortable, we felt like royalty staying here!
Beyond our expectations
We had the absolute pleasure of staying in both the CaseMaggi Firenze city centre apartment near Piazza di Sant’Ambrogio and the Portovenere Attico sul Mare (Penthouse on the Sea). Both properties were beyond our expectations. The beds were extremely comfortable in both properties, cleanliness superb and the attention to detail was excellent. Given the heatwave we experienced at the time of visiting. the air-con in both was very welcome.
In Florence, we were close to all the main attractions and really enjoyed our visit to the Sant’Ambrogio market where we had a wonderfully entertaining lunch in Trattoria da Rocco. Communication with Michael was excellent & the apartment was beautifully furnished, spacious and comfortable.
The Penthouse apartment in Portovenere was something really special. The views were spectacular and it was a privilege to soak it up everyday. An amazing refurbishment of the apartment had just been completed before we arrived and it is elegant, classy and very clever – making wonderful use of the space with fantastic attention to detail again. Lots of steps for sure so maybe not an ideal option with small kids or buggies but our kids aged 7 and 10 were well able for it and adored the pier jumping at the Olivo beach that we had gate access too. Many hours were spent splashing at this local beach. We also had a wonderful day visiting the Cinque Terre towns by ferry from
Portovenere. We had no issues venturing into the town by foot and enjoyed a wonderful meal on our last night at Locando Lorena on Palmaria island. Getting the boat they put on from the pier in Portovenere to the island was very special and coming back across the water to the sparkling lights of Portovenere will live long in the memory.
